CoD 5?!?!

Apparently this is the new Call Of Duty,
This one isnt Modern Warfare but rather WW2 again! Not sure how this will go considering how that theatre of gameplay has gone stale ... bored

yeah but they might look into only using interesting guns so gameplay is better, not something that looks terribly good battlefield 3 sounds like a better buy for me

Depends I haven't seen anything regarding BF3 at the moment. There is no solid info, unless your talking bout Bad Company or Heroes?

Apparantly they're using the same game engine in BF3 as the one in Bad Company, so it might be similar in some ways.

COD 5 is gonna be wikid its going to have a really gritty in depth story line and it gonna keep the same perk and achievement system that is in COD 4. Also it is going to have vehicles and an a co-op campaign mode. LOOKS FREAKING SWEET!!!!

Hmm, theres going to be a variety of great FPS's coming out in the future, Gears of War 2 is coming out later and its meant to be fully sick!
So there will be CoD5, BF: Bad Company and Gears of War 2.......sounds good to me! thumbsup

from the looks of that trailer, seems as if its focusing on the vietnam war, or even battles in the pacific region.

could it be what BF:V was aimed to be?

Nah I think its the battles over the smaller pacific islands Ras. Like around Phillipines and Kokoda and shit...the battles no ones really heard about or hasn't had games based off it.
You take the Japanese point of view in it I think, the rise and fall etc. Would be a pretty good PC game me thinks if it works upgrade/rank wise like COD4..

think about it though, in WW2 they didn't have a variety of guns to choose from, so maybe they gonna focus on perks or other features

Yeah from what ive heard and read it is WW2 in the pacific and you swap between the jap and allied forces points of view-Like Halo 2 style- and there are going to be vehicles and it will be based on the COD 4 engine so it will have the perks and upgrades

cod 5 is goin 2 b based in the asian pacific parts of ww2, which isnt really popularised as such, thus the reactions I heard u guys sayin they are just little wars. Which are, but there are TONNES of lil wars in the european theatre that you guys wouldn know about either. The asian pacific theatre was actually some of the most grittiest and goriest battles during world war 2. One game that did tell you abit about the happenings of this theatre was Medal of Honour Pacific Assault. It was a good game, but of course, it was a Medal of Honour game and people don't really care much about it. Razz

This is rumored to have a release date of late 2008 to early 2009.

On the other hand.... BF3 is based of course, back in the modern times. Rumored to be similar to BF2, but with more ranks, more guns, more vehicles, more unlocks, varied classes and bigger scale battles. (Like it isn't big enough!) Said to be released in late 2009 and 2010. As it hasn't been unofficially talked about by DICE or EA, this game is still pending.

Altogether these 2 games can't be compared as such anymore, as they are taking different approaches to their games. As you can see cod wants to focus more on deathmatch type gameplay, whereas battlefield wants the war-type gameplay.

whoever said WWII was stale..NOooooooooOOOOOOooooOOO! CoD5 looks awesome...i just hope they have bigger, more open maps than CoD4, coz running round middle eastern cities over and over again gets a little broing.

has anyone heard about the CoD5 multiplayer? Apart from the Co-Op, they are making it like CoD4. With perks and unlockables and everything exactly like CoD4, just in the WW2 era. For me, that sounds kool cos I love the weapons back then. Razz

but realistically did the axis and allies put the money in for these perks lol no everybody recieved standard weapons, I don't mind the attribute perks but i think gun modification could ruin the core of WW2 fighting.

good point there but i suppose theyll be realistics kinda perks like maybe the japs will get one that allows them to bury themselves in the ground to do suprise attacks or pretend to be dead and when someone comes close they blow themselves up. for just a few examples. I checked out the ss and it looks sweet as.and the fact that you will get to use russia as well is cool.

fckin sif. Sure u cant have red dot sights and ACOG scopes, but theres shitloads of things u cud do. Silencers where available, as where improved sights and expanded magazines.

lol silencers were around, but rarely and only on a few pistols and rifles. No red dot or acogs at the time. And back then, the guns were modified, just that they brought out the next version instead of manufacturing the extra part. eg. kar98k, had a scope, but then the just released a whole brand new rifle. Razz

If anyone has played Medal of Honor Airbourne, they have some realistic gun modifications that are really interesting. Like more ammo and scopes. So yer, there will be tonnes of possibilities for mods for guns in CoD5. All im thinking about now is perks..... stun

lol the sten gun had an inbuilt silencer, it was not separate. As I said before it was just a different model. Razz

But yer, that sub machine gun was really junky but I doubt was used in the Pacific, as it was really unreliable. Razz

The sten gun was used heaps by the Aus forces in the Pacific and the Aus soldiers loved them because they were reliable. And as for possible mods there is only really scopes that they can have silencers were rare back in the day. But the ideas for perks are enless they could do all kind of wikid things

yer tat was wat i was sayin. So u like u can get the bayonet for a gun attachment and u can do melee at further range.
