what makes a good player?

so im an average player but im always looking to improve.
i curious to know what it is you think that makes you stand out
from the crowd,is it your hardware,your settings,or just your uber
knife skills.dont me shy tell everyone how awesome you are.

well i have become probably one of the better cod 4 players in australia over the past year or so. This can be due to my fast reflexes due to being only 15 and still young Smile

but i have found that the more you play the more pick up new details in the game and the more aware of your surrounding u become. I thinka tm i have racked up close to 900 hours of playing cod 4 so this can only help my cause of becoming better. Hardware does make a difference. If your playing with a low fps setting your not going to be able to play aswell as some with 125 fps constant. So hardware does count for something. Its not a neccessity but i highly recommend having a decent pc to play games with. Also mayb 6 months ago i had jsut a normal old home mouse and i though it was pretty decent then i had a spare $30 and though id look around for a new mouse to try out wat it was like to use a gaming mouse. I will NEVER EVER GO back to using an old mouse. The gaming mosue i bought (logitech mx518) is cheap and extremely smooth. You may not think that there is much difference but there is a large difference and i can honestly say its made me a abetter player. Well there my little speach. Everyone come and post about how good i am Smile

Mmmm I'd say reflex combined with accuracy, if you've got those two you're all set. Mainly reflex

EDIT: Yeah like sammy said hardware too, the day I got my G5 I was literally owning up it was noticeably better for gaming. Also network connection and internet, you can have the best reflex and accuracy in the world but with shitty interwebs those hits just wont register sad

yea ur connection is obv a major part.

Other factors include ur ability to distinguish dofferent shades to see enemy and fast hands to avoid enemy fire!

possibly the most important thing is to be from australia not nz, it really helps

-reflex
-dont stay still or in the same spot
-use cover effectively
-always spawn on squad leader..wait for them if the are dead
-dont teamkill (im bad at this)
-dont leave single shot on
-throw lots of nades, like millions
-practise bunny hopping

and teabag most importantly or you will be kfc

no one has agreed with something sammyd said and thats getting to learn the game, the more you know how other people play the game and how each map works ect ect helps you alot
you can have excellent reflexes, hardware,internet ect and go onto a new game and get owned because people know the game and maps better then you.
so i would say lots of hours in a game helps.

so yeah thats my five cents

If only I took a screen shot of it! Last night I was on JRKY (Surprise Surprise) and I knifed 3 =DcS= Members! 3 of them were topping on the other team and I had 2 on my team who I was beating and the laughed at me and said the others were doing nothing but raging on vent!

Well, for me, the harder i am to hit the better. Prone is a neg for myself unless its a clear 1-1 (not even in most of those either)

Going prone makes your head the biggest part of your body, 1 straight at ya when you insta prone can take ya out.

Reloading after each skirmish, pros- u have another full clip for next skirmish.

Throwing a Nade at the person gets them moving, this can help u to flank them as the nade draws their attention away from you.
